Cork Community Land Trust

Cork Community Land Trust (CCLT) is a new CLT for Cork city

A CLT is a democratic, community-led organisation which owns and / or controls land and other assets, using them for the benefit of the community. It is organised around three principal ideas:

Community

CLTs are organised around a place, and anyone who lives or works there can join and democratically participate.

Land

CLTs take ownership of land, removing it from the market place and stewarding it on behalf of the local community.

Trust

CLTs prioritise the wellbeing of the local community, safeguarding purposes like permanently affordable housing or the preservation of natural habitats.

Incorporated in January 2025, the goal of Cork Community Land Trust (CCLT) is to develop a democratic, fair and inclusive community organisation that provides a structure for local communities to develop affordable, sustainable homes as well as social, cultural and ecological spaces.

CCLT has been developed as a collaborative project between SOA, Ailbhe Cunningham, Aoife Desmond, Eoghan Horgan & Eve Olney, with the support of many local residents and activists.
